Becky lloyd north carolinaview artist s products my work uses a centuries old technique called sgraffito to create very intricatepatterns and designs. She hand throws her delicate porcelain vessels then intricately decorates each one with carved botanical patterns and motifs. Becky and steve married and eventually moved to rural minnesota to set up a studio and raise their two daughters. Each piece of hand thrown porcelain is coated with a black terra sigillata slip.

This research was supported by a craft research fund grant from the center for craft creativity design inc. I then use a very sharp knife to cut into the slip to expose the white porcelain undern.
