Press the red reset button on the bottom of the badger 5 before resuming use. If the overload protector has tripped you will see that the red button has popped out about a quarter of an inch 5mm.

The red button is the overload protector. If it won t stay pressed in try again after 10 minutes. Push the reset button on the bottom of the disposal. This button drops out when the garbage disposal is overloaded.

If it has tripped it will protrude a quarter of an inch. This prevents any electrical damage to the unit. To prevent the motor from burning out an internal breaker trips to shut off the unit. Like most garbage disposal units the badger 1 has an opening at the bottom of its housing.
